Free, confidential memory screenings will be offered by Neurological Associates of Albany on Tuesday, Nov.19, designated as National Memory Screening Day by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
The face-to-face screenings, consisting of a series of questions and tasks, take five to 10 minutes, according to the AFA. The results are scored but do not represent a diagnosis. people who score poorly are advised to see a doctor.
Adults recommended for the screenings include those with memory concerns, a family history of Alzheimer's disease or a desire to establish a baseline score to gauge future memory loss against.
The event will also include a lecture on Alzheimer's disease by Dr. Richard Holub of Neurological Associates, and information for patients and caregivers.
The screenings will be held at the Desmond Hotel, 660 Albany Shaker Rad, Colonie, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Registration is preferred for those who want to be screened; call 426-0575.
